To comprehensively upgrade Disaster Preparedness of any city- it is essential to evaluate its existing level of preparedness. This book gyrates around Peter Drucker's quote, "if you can't measure it, you can't improve it." The authors use an exploratory approach to examine the level of preparedness of Chandigarh to combat Biological Disasters by evaluating the Government / Private Health facilities, organic / inorganic essential services and the probable individual responses of the community. The methodology and insights can be adapted for any other metro / city. The recommendations of the book have already been included in the Chandigarh Disaster Management plan.
